About
I work with companies that need their firmware and hardware built right, once — not patched, not inherited from a prototype that outgrew itself. Every engagement is direct, scoped to specification, and delivered with the care that only comes from a single engineer who owns the outcome end to end.
This is not a dev shop, not an agency, not a marketplace. One engineer, deep Nordic silicon experience, seven years across the full embedded lifecycle.
Commercial projects only — companies shipping connected products with a real budget and a real deadline. Not suitable for hobbyist or non-funded ventures.
Services
Take on one phase or hand the whole project over. The engagement adapts to where you are.
| Service | Description | — |
|---|---|---|
| Firmware Development | Bare metal and RTOS firmware in C/C++. BLE stack integration, FOTA, power optimisation, and production-hardened reliability from driver level to application logic. |
→ |
| Hardware Design | Schematic capture, PCB layout, component selection, and DFM review. Power architecture, RF layout, and first-pass yield considered from the first netlist. |
→ |
| System Architecture | MCU and radio selection, communication stack design, power budgets, memory mapping — the decisions that cost months to undo if made poorly in week one. |
→ |
| Production & Provisioning | Factory test jigs, automated programming flows, device provisioning, and security configuration. The gap between prototype and manufactured product, closed. |
→ |
| Technical Due Diligence | Code and hardware review for companies acquiring a product or inheriting embedded work. Risk identification, documentation, and a clear remediation picture. |
→ |
| Scoping & Consultation | A fixed-price technical review. We define what needs to be built, surface risks, and establish fit. You receive a written output whether or not the project proceeds. |

Technical Stack
Years on nRF52-series and nRF5340 hardware — asset tracking, BLE peripherals, dual-core application firmware. Adjacent experience across STM32, ESP32, and Zephyr-based platforms.
Grounded in the sectors where South African and African commercial embedded work concentrates — asset management, telematics, and industrial IoT.
Engagement
A paid scoping session before any commitment. Defined scope before execution. Phased delivery with clear outputs. IP transfers cleanly to you at handoff.
A fixed-price technical review. We define what needs to be built, surface risks, and establish whether there is a fit. You receive a written output either way.
A clear scope document, milestone schedule, and fixed or time-and-materials price. No moving targets without a formal change order.
Phased delivery with a review point at each milestone. Progress is visible throughout — not presented as a fait accompli at the end.
Tested, documented, and production-ready. Includes build environment, manufacturer documentation, and knowledge transfer to your team.
Contact
Commercial projects only. If you’re shipping a connected product and need embedded expertise — the first conversation is at no charge.
